There are many travel options to reach Split Croatia, however most popular is to fly into one of the following airports:

Split Airport

  • The only airport located in Split.
  • Located about (23.1 km) from the city centre via Ivana Pavla II (28 minute journey by car with taxi services or the public bus number 37 costing €2.23 running Monday- Sunday)

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), Croatia

  • Located 259.2 km from Split airport.
  • Can fly from this airport into Split or alternatively can take the Bus (5 hours 45 mins), The ferry (6 hours) or drive (6 hours).

Public Transport in Split, Croatia

  • There are 19 bus routes in the city itself, plus three night routes. There are also a number of 'suburban' lines to locations outside of the city itself. Useful bus routes are Trogir (bus line 37, which also goes by Split Airport); to Klis, for the fortress (bus line 34); to Solin (several bus lines); and to Omis (bus line 60). Promet Split also runs buses on the islands of Ciovo and Solta.
  • Split train station is located adjacent to the main bus station and the port. It is unlikely to use trains to travel around the general area, although there are connections to nearby Solin (11 minutes by train) and the Kastela region (20-30 minutes by train to Kastel Stari). ( Trains also used to travel into Zagreb)
  • There are ferries connecting Split with the nearby islands and other towns and cities in Dalmatia.
